A Word from the Owner: Pete Bryant
It’s crazy to think that over twenty one years ago I started Southern Exposure. I have been blessed in so many ways over the years. I knew early on that I was destined to be my own boss, but my wife and I had no idea the direction God would lead us. We had very humble beginnings and have weathered many storms along the way. I’ve seen the business take on many different shapes as we’ve evolved over the years and as I look back, I’m very thankful for His guidance. For close to a decade, Southern Exposure was simply me. Life was simple and easy to control as my hands were in everything. Gradually we hired people and I had to allow others the ability to take on more responsibility. The transition was easier than I thought once I was able to stop micro-managing my people. Quality control has allows been my top concern especially through those early years. Realizing that one person can’t “do it all” has been a key factor in releasing some of the day to day operations of running our company. What’s amazing is how God has brought the right people at the right time to help shape our company into the well-run organization it is today. It’s also been interesting to see employees grow and stepping into new roles that I did not envision them adopting. Owning multiple businesses (Southern Lights as well) comes with its challenges, but the rewards far outweigh them. I’m very proud of my employees and the organization that we have ALL built. I’m excited to see where the Lord takes us over the next 20 years.
