In our country, we have set aside a specific day to give thanks for all we have. However, it seems like other holidays are creeping in and overshadowing the time we have reserved for being thankful in order to get us to buy, buy, buy! But at Southern Exposure/Southern Lights, we believe in being thankful all the time. So even though the official day of giving thanks has passed for this year, we still are thankful, and want to let you know why.
We are grateful for our customers, of course. Without you, we wouldn’t exist. Our employees can provide for their families because of you. We are entirely locally owned and operated—no franchise here—so all your money stays right here in the Triad. Some of us were born and raised here in North Carolina, others of us are transplants. But we are all proud to live and work in North Carolina.
We appreciate referrals, whether from customers, suppliers, or other contractors we work with. We appreciate the confidence in our company. Nothing is more pleasing to hear than “My neighbor used you, and it looks fantastic! She totally recommended you to us!” or “I’ve seen your trucks around and I love your work!” One of my favorites is that an employee is “always so nice!” Our website is “wemakedirtlookgood.com” and it’s more than just a catchphrase. We do strive to make your dirt look good, but also to be kind and respectful, helpful, and to leave you satisfied. A job well done also leaves us satisfied!
Believe it or not, we are also thankful when our customers call to point out a concern. Nobody likes to make or receive those calls, but we do appreciate them because they alert us to a situation, offer us the opportunity to correct it and to prevent future issues. They help us make our business even better, and keep our quality high!
Maybe you are reading this blog because you are interested in landscaping, outdoor lighting or hardscaping. Some of you come to this blog because of the amazing writing and clever wit displayed therein, but in the end you learn something. That’s wonderful! No matter what, we appreciate you checking us out and hope you share us on social platforms. Keep coming back, keep learning, and keep sharing!
Finally, we are thankful that God has blessed us with talents and ability, and has given us the opportunity to do what we love. He has also brought so many awesome people in our path. We are not lucky, we are blessed! And for this, we are deeply grateful, and humbled, which is one of the reasons we as a company and as individuals strive to give back—volunteering time and/or materials to help others. We encourage you to do the same.
But we are most grateful that God sent us his Son, our Savior. And for that, this Christmas Season and always, we are truly thankful.
